This resolution came a bit too late to count as a New Year's Resolution, but it seems important as well. I'm trying to make it a point to go on some form of hike every weekend (with the husband, and occasionally others). I'm currently 4 for 5 on this one (the one I missed I was on the East Coast for my dad's 60th birthday, so I'm giving myself a pass!)
The first one was Crystal Cove in Irvine with friends. The next weekend was a quick run at the Observatory trails at Griffith Park. Following my weekend on the East Coast, we did the circumference (and random bits in the middle) of the South Coast Botanic Garden. I neglected to take photos during any of these, but I'll work on that for the future.
Last weekend we joined a friend in Santa Monica to walk down to and long the beach. It was a beautiful day in Santa Monica, and blessedly cool. There's a reason Santa Monica is such a painfully expensive place to live.
Anyway, here's to a return of the Small Adventures.
| Such stairs. |
| Just a shot of the cliffs that separate downtown Santa Monica from the ocean front. |
| Adorable and strange houses, doing their best to take advantage of the view. |
| Also weird construction projects... more parking lots maybe? |
| There's tons of bike rental options in Santa Monica, including the bike-sharing programs like Lime and Breeze bikes. This is the first time I'd seen a bike truck. |
